Trump Imposes Steep Tariffs on Dozens of Trading Partners
In a sweeping move ahead of a self-imposed trade deadline, U.S. President Donald Trump announced heavy new import duties on dozens of countries. The White House on Thursday released an executive order imposing tariffs of 10% to 50% on goods from 69 trading partners, effective in one week. Key rates include 35% on many Canadian imports, 50% on Brazilian goods, 25% on Indian shipments, 20% on Taiwanese products and 39% on Swiss exports.
